Roberto Rudari - received a Master Degree in Hydraulic Engineer at the Univ. of Genova (1998). Master Thesis at the Free University of Brussels (VUB), (1997-1998). Ph.D. in Hydraulic Engineer at University of Padova (2002), Visiting Ph.D. at MIT – R.M. Parsons Lab. (2000-2001). Post-Doc at University of Genova (2003-2004). Researcher at the National Research Council, Perugia (2004-2006). Research position at University of Genova (2006-2008). Research Director and Project Leader at CIMA Research Foundation (2008-Present). Member of the Board of Directors of Acrotec Foundation. Roberto Rudari has more than 15 years’ experience in risk Assessment models and Civil protection applications assisted by satellite information, statistical characterization of land effects and vulnerability estimation of flood and drought events, combined hydro-meteorological forecast systems based on probabilistic concepts. He is special consultant of UNDRR on Risk assessment and Global Risk Assessment with focus on Weather related hazards. Consultant of WMO’s Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM). Special advisor on Integrated Food risk management for different international institutions. Steering committee member of the Global Flood Partnership. Steering committee member of the Risk Nexus Initiative. Member of the EU Loss Database Working Group. Coordinator of several project in the domain of disaster risk evaluation and Satellite applications. Among those, coordinator of several projects with GFDRR and UNDRR for the definition of Floods and Drought and risk profiles. PM of several EC and ESA funded Projects. Author of more than 100 papers: 40 on international refereed journals.
