David Jácome Polit is currently Metropolitan Director of Resilience at the Municipality of Quito, Ecuador and Chief Resilience Officer as part of the Resilient Cities Network, pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation from where he leads the resilience efforts throughout the city, including those found in the Resilience Strategy of Quito. He is a system’s thinker and resilience advocate with 18 years of experience in policy, planning and project management in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, where he has worked with cross-disciplinary teams to find creative solutions to complex problems.

He has been involved in the CLEVER Cities project to find nature-based solutions to reduce physical risk in low-income neighbourhoods. He has actively been involved in a multi-actor and inclusive process that resulted in the Agrifood Pact of Quito, a 1500 signees collaboration space; the Agrifood Strategy of Quito and the city's agrifood resilience plan. Moreover, he designed the regulation to incentivize eco-efficiency in new buildings as a land value capture mechanism, among others.
