Mr. Morell is the Senior Advisor to FirstNet for Network, Technology and Operations and leads FirstNet’s international engagement. Since 2015, he is responsible for a large span of the FirstNet Authorities operations, providing subject matter expert advisement in a chief of staff role to FirstNet. He is a global leader for building collaboration among nations for creation of broadband networks for Public Safety communications. He brings over 27 years of experience as a leader in public safety in areas of Fire Fighting, Emergency Medical Services, Law Enforcement and Emergency Management. He was a first responder to the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center which identified communications issues that became the genesis of FirstNet. He has deployed in public safety and leadership roles to large disasters across the globe, lived in Asia, advising in resiliency, response and recovery efforts and served as the deputy director over public safety for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
