Roman Roehrl is a climate change specialist at the EIB, where he leads on the management of physical climate risk in projects and contributes to the Bank’s climate policies, standards and due diligence procedures. He has extensive experience in the climate finance space. His expertise lies in building resilience in institutions, adapting investment projects and accessing climate finance. His duties led him to work with public and financial sector clients in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. Before joining the Bank, Mr. Roehrl served at the German development agency (GIZ) for over 10 years. Mr. Roehrl holds Master degrees in environment & development studies from the University of Cambridge and in social sciences and economics from the University of Munich.
