Mr. Kees van der Burg
Vice-Minister Mobility, Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands
Kees van der Burg (1969) has been Vice-Minister Mobility at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (DGMo) since September 2019. DGMo aims to further develop the network quality of the rail and road network as well as to ensure its safe and sustainable use by passengers and the transport sector. This contributes to the economic and spatial development of the Netherlands within the conditions of liveability and safety. The development of resilient infrastructure is instrumental in keeping the Netherlands safe and accessible.
Before his position at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Kees van der Burg held positions at the Ministry of Public Health (Director-General Long-term Care) and at the Ministry of Social Affairs (Deputy Director-General Youth and Social Care). After his studies in Public Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he specialized in Financial Economic management, Mr Van der Burg started his career at the Ministry of Finance.
