Dr. Vandana Kumar is serving as Joint Secretary in Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. She has more than 29 years of work experience in policy design and implementation across sectors which serve diverse stakeholders. Her responsibilities include policies of Solar Power and Green Hydrogen. She has also worked for development of industry and enhancing its competitiveness, public procurement and complex national defence programs. A graduate of Delhi University and a post graduate from Carnegie Mellon University, she holds a PhD from Gujarat University, India. She has published several papers and has authored a book, Scaling of Frugal Innovations: Insights from India.
